What will Apple’s iPhone 13 look like when it launches later this year? Nobody knows for sure, but a multitude of leaks and rumors about the upcoming Apple hardware have given us a clear idea of what to expect.

With all of these leaks and rumors cluttering the internet, we’ve created renders of the most likely design we’d expect Apple to use for its upcoming flagship iPhone 13.

In the image above (and the galleries below) you can find our renders of the biggest and best iPhone 13 rumors we’ve seen so far. There’s no guarantee this will be correct in September or whenever Apple launches the new phone, but that’s our best guess right now for the handset’s design.

What will change from iPhone 12 to iPhone 13?

Time and again, leaks have indicated that we won’t see any major design changes for the iPhone 13 series, but there will likely be a couple of tweaks that mean the looks of the upcoming phone will be different.

The camera goes diagonally

The camera upgrades for the iPhone 13 are currently expected to be minimal, with the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max likely to be the handsets that get major changes to their rear cameras.

However, it is widely rumored that the design of the iPhone 13’s camera is changing, and the biggest likely change will be the shifting of the lenses to a diagonal design rather than the look of the iPhone 12.

The iPhone 13’s camera block is also expected to protrude more from the back of the phone. One leak says it will be 2.51mm thick, compared to 1.5mm thick on the iPhone 12.

Expect a smaller notch

According to a large number of leaks, Apple will build a smaller notch into the iPhone 13 series. In fact, it should be 30% smaller in width compared to the iPhone 12.

This has been cited by numerous sources, and some have suggested that Apple will move the earpiece from the notch into the handset’s bezel to create additional screen space.

We have integrated the smaller notch in our renderings. At first glance, this might not seem quite as slim as you’d expected, so we’ve also taken it into account when compared to the 2020 iPhone 12.

Expect some new colors too

Other leaks suggest that Apple will change its colors in 2021, and that doesn’t surprise us. This is what the company often does when it unveils a new iPhone.

What surprised us are the colors the company may have opted for. According to some leaks, Apple is considering a pink hue and an orange as new additions for 2021.

Apple is generally not opposed to these colors, but we haven’t seen the company incorporate them into a flagship smartphone. The leaks didn’t give us a clear idea of the exact hues, so we based the renders above on two existing Apple products.

The pink hue is similar to the headband on the company’s AirPods Max, which launched in early 2021. The orange now takes on the color of the company’s youngest iMac 2021.

Neither of these colors is guaranteed to hit the market – one rumor has it that the orange variant didn’t make it past the prototype stage – but it’s fun to see what Apple could bring out later in 2021.
