Charles Bassey unveils new Spectrum-inspired jersey

Help, Charles Bassey has technically only been a member of the Philadelphia 76ers for less than a week, and already pays massive dividends for fans in the City of Brotherly Love; $ 2 million well spent indeed.

On Monday, September 27, also known as media day for all 30 NBA teams, Charles Bassey took care of his business and enjoyed his first official day as a member of the Sixers. He’s certainly looked at the facilities, snapped some photos with his new teammates, and collected his jerseys for the season.

What, I venture to ask, do young people usually do when they share exciting new experiences? Well they share it on social media, duh.

Usually it’s not that big of a deal. Many of the Sixers’ new players posted in their new dig, had fun with the media assembled in the facility and digitally, and even joked at the expense of Danny Green. But where Bassey screwed up something is “accidentally” an as-yet-unreleased Philadelphia 76ers kit design, inspired by the old Spectrum.

Did the team plan to release their new alternative jersey – City Edition or otherwise – over the 15th? 5,000 followers on Twitter? I’m not exactly sure, but I have to say the jersey is pretty, pretty, pretty good.

The Philadelphia 76ers land another solid kit option in 2020-21.

To the best of my knowledge, the Philadelphia 76ers have never worn a dark blue uniform.

Sure, they chose a variety of different shades of blue, with some of them Seventies uniforms with a particularly dark royal blue, but since the transition from the Syracuse Nationals to the Philadelphia 76ers in 1963, Navy has only been a complementary color on the team official range.

Well until now.

That’s right, if the jersey leaked by Charles Bassey is actually legitimate, the Sixers will wear a jersey that the old Denver Nuggets would be proud of, as it’s bright, multi-dimensional, and a range of atypical patterns of color.

Wanna look better Fortunately, our friends at Unimockups have a complete approximation of the two leaked jerseys that look darn good.

Do you understand what I mean? That is, in fact, “dop”.

Well, for the eagle-eyed observer who knows the Philadelphia sports history inside out – or you just read the comment section – you might recognize the red, orange, green and blue lines descending from the old 76ers logo under the jersey sleeves at the spectrum. While the Sixers haven’t played in the CoreStates / First Union / Wachovia Spectrum since the 1995-96 season and the venue was finally demolished about a decade ago, it remains a cherished part of the city’s sports history.

Since the introduction of the City Edition uniform, the Sixers have honored their past, Rocky, Boathouse Row, the Constitution and the Spectrum. While it is not the uniform Everyone has been waiting to be reissued because black and gold “Allen Iverson“Uniform has remained locked in the safe, insane, this is certainly better than the”Deserved expenditure”Liberty Bell look that was arbitrarily introduced in the middle of the 2020/21 season.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Spectrum color scheme or do you want something more? Hip hop-adjacent? Who knows, give Charles Bassey another week and he might accidentally debut that too.
