Colors are so important for our mood and also determine our consumer behavior. They have a stronger impact when compared to design and patterns as far as packaging is concerned. They also play an important role in decorating our home and office and that is why we are going to talk about them today.

Basic colors and how to use them

White is often used to convey cleanliness, as well as modernity and youth, to the audience. We can also use silver for modern and high-tech products. Black, on the other hand, is said to be the color of power and is not chosen for luxury cars without good reason. Green has proven to be the most pleasing color to the human eye. Since green was so lush, we got used to it. The presence of trees, and therefore the green color, would mean that there is food, the right temperature and friendly conditions for human survival.

Orange stands for luck and because it contains a lot of red, it also symbolizes trust. Marketers looking to promote products that need to stand out from the competition on the shelves of a supermarket; Products that people don’t think much about before buying them very often choose orange and red colors because they excite us and attract our attention. The final secondary color is purple and is associated with creativity, mystery, and spiritualism. It brings out a balanced combination of excitement and passion, calm and beauty, and represents contemplative emotions.

The color combination – which ones are the best

There are three basic colors that exist without being formed by combining other colors; red, yellow and blue. If we combine these three with each other, other colors can arise, the so-called secondary colors. Orange is the result of red and yellow, green is when we mix yellow and blue, and purple is the mix of red and blue.

For each basic color there is a complementary color that results from the mixture of the other two basic colors. So the complementary color of red is green. Blue lacks orange to complete or the complementary color of yellow is purple. The complementary colors should match perfectly. If we bring two complementary colors next to each other, the colors appear lighter and attract the eye’s attention.

If we put the two primary colors and their complementary color together in one picture, we can also enhance the effect of each color. For example, an image that includes red, yellow and orange is super bright and manages to perfectly convey the message of happiness, confidence and vigilance.

Warm and cool colors

Colors can also be divided into warm and cool. The warm colors are: red, yellow and orange and convey a feeling of connection and joy. From a negative point of view, some people find warm colors stressful and make them anxious. Rooms such as the kitchen and living room are often dominated by warm colors, because you stay here and want to be open and communicative.

Cool colors are the three colors left out of the six we introduced above i.e. blue, green, and purple. Cool colors may often be boring to some of us, but at the same time we have to admit that they are relaxing and “heal” our pain and sadness. Work spaces can often be cool colors. Also, keep in mind that cool colors make objects appear wider, while warm colors make them appear closer.
