Drew’s Organics, LLC issues a voluntary recall of Aldi Simply Nature organic poppy seed dressing due to possible Clostridium botulinum contamination

Drew’s Organics, LLC of Chester, VT, is voluntarily recalling a lot code of Aldi Simply Nature Organic Poppy Seed Dressing due to a processing problem that could allow microbial growth.

The recalled product comes in a 12 fl. Ounce. Glass bottle with a best before date of February 15, 2023 and UPC # 4099100023169. The batch code is printed on the bottle shoulder above the label.

This measure is being carried out in cooperation with the US FDA. Product was sold between August 20 and September 10 in the following states of Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Dakota selected Aldi stores spread across New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Vermont, Wisconsin and West Virginia.

No illnesses have been reported to date with this product. No other Aldi products are affected by this recall.

The recall was initiated after Drew’s Organics, LLC found a color difference in Simply Nature Organic Poppy Seed Dressing after manufacture. The investigation found that the pH is out of specification and there is potential for microbial growth, including Clostridium botulinummaking it unsafe to eat.

Consumers should stop using this product and can return it to the location where they purchased it for a full refund.
