London (VNA) – That Vietnam – UK network hosted an evening banquet in the UK house of lords on June 13 after a hiatus of over two years caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The network’s evening banquet, held every spring and summer, is an event that reviews its activities and serves as a platform for organizations and individuals interested in Vietnam to network with each other and seek opportunities for cooperation to enhance the relationship of the two Countries to step up in all aspects.

In his remarks, Vietnamese Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Nguyen Hoang Long, recognized the network’s efforts to promote cooperation and friendship between the countries’ organizations and individuals. He also reiterated his embassy’s support for the network’s activities to further develop bilateral relations.

He said Vietnam and the UK have plenty of partnership opportunities in trade, investment and tourism as both are now in the post-pandemic recovery phase, with policies to reopen borders and plans to support their businesses and people.

Long stressed that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to the UK and attendance at the 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in November 2021 and the forthcoming trip of National Assembly Speaker Vuong Dinh Hue later this month open up new opportunities for cooperation have, especially in green technology and finance.

MP Dholakia, Vice-Chairman of the Vietnam All-Party Parliamentary Group, shared his good impression of the Vietnamese people and culture, and called on British businesses and people to come to the Southeast Asian nation for interesting experiences and cooperation and… to seek business opportunities.

Launched in January 2013 during a visit to the UK by Party Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong, the network brings together independent organizations that bring together organizations and individuals interested in Vietnam to promote bilateral links across the board.
