Plus, you don’t want your trench coat to be too tight as you can move around comfortably and easily, â€adds Gulbransen.
You can also use the trench coat as a statement piece. “Start with the same color at the top and bottom and pull in a different color trench to make your coat stand out,” said Gulbransen.
Finally, consider how many layers to wear in winter before deciding on the size you want. “You want a fit that allows sweaters or other cold-weather tops to be worn underneath,” said Cospito.
