Everything comes pink at Langham – Pasadena Weekendr

As Pasadena emerges from the dark shadow of the pandemic, the light at the end of the tunnel may have been tinged pink. That is definitely the case at the Langham Huntington Hotel.

The five-star luxury hotel is currently in the middle of the annual “Pink Tober” award for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Leslie Marks, Marketing Director of Langham Huntington, recently told us: “This is an opportunity for us to give back and of course pink is the signature color of Langham. So it’s a great connection for us. “

To that end, the Langham Huntington is offering special room packages for the month with a special pink lemonade on arrival. What’s even sweeter is that 10% of the proceeds from bookings are made by the hotel’s charity, the Dr. Susan Love Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.

The foundation, it says on its website, “is challenging the status quo to end breast cancer and now through education and advocacy to improve the lives of those affected. The foundation is driving cutting-edge collaborative research with non-traditional partners, exposing the collateral damage of treatment and looking for ways to reduce it, and interpreting the science to empower patients. “

The Langham, like everyone else in the universe for the past eighteen months, has dealt with the pandemic in a variety of ways. For example, the foundation’s fundraiser last year was a virtual afternoon tea event.

But, Marks said, “It was great.”

Marks also noted, “In 2022 and 2022 there will be a little more appetite for some personal things. So we want to do more next year, this year with something simple. “

The hotel’s iconic Tap Room is launching a revamped cocktail menu later this month and of course the hotel’s new “pink” cocktail will take its rightful place on the list.

The new signature cocktail consists of sshhhh, some Hendricks gin, some grenadine and lemon juice, among other things. Oh, and something called aquafaba, a hearty ingredient that is actually the liquid in a can of chickpeas.

The secret starchy liquid actually hits and creates a foam. Along with the ability to trap some nice air for some height and structure, it also gives the drink a fluffy crumbly feel. Top it with a strawberry, and the first taste is similar to drinking Neapolitan ice cream. And then you’re on your own. What could pinker be?

And with November coming in no time at all, Langham is offering a special afternoon tea for children next month starring “Peppa Pig”. For the uninitiated, Peppa Pig is a long-running British children’s series that follows the adventures of Peppa Pig, her brother George, their parents, and the other animal families that make up their little animal town.

These special room packages are available now through November, Marks said.

“It’s kind of a glamping package for kids,” she said. “They’re given a pink pop-up tent, a mat, and a small chair, and then they’re given all kinds of Peppa Pig goodies to take home.”

Afternoon tea for children will be held on the terrace of Langham on November 6th, 7th and 14th at 1pm with a special menu on characters.

More holiday events are also in the pipeline as Thanksgiving and Christmas get closer, but we’ll be riding this sleigh when it arrives.
