Sports broadcaster Holly Rowe is coming home.

The longtime ESPN part-time reporter and graduate of the University of Utah will be part of the Utah Jazz game night broadcast team this season.

“We’re excited to include someone with as much versatility, insight and storytelling experience as Holly on our show,” said Bart Sharp, Jazz’s chief marketing officer, in a press release. “Holly not only has strong local ties to our state, but is also a respected and established national sports broadcaster that we believe will give our fans a unique perspective on our franchise.”

Rowe’s addition seems to mark the end of former jazzman Matt Harpring’s career as a color commentator.

Rowe has spent more than 30 years – 25 of them at ESPN and ABC – playing a variety of sports. She will continue to work for ESPN and ABC in addition to her new roles as a jazz broadcast analyst.

Rowe is from Utah and began her career as a play-by-play voice for BYU women’s volleyball and gymnastics. Rowe was also an analyst for the WNBA’s Utah Starzz and a sports reporter and presenter for several outlets in Salt Lake City.

The Jazz TV team will consist of Craig Bolerjack, Thurl Bailey and Rowe during games on AT&T SportsNet. Before the game, at halftime and after the game, host Alema Harrington and analyst Mike Smith will direct the show. On the radio, legendary ABA / NBA player Ron Boone will continue to speak to David Locke on the phone, while presenter Jake Scott will assist Tim LaComb in analyzing the games on 1280 AM and 97.5 FM.

Nayo Campbell and Kera Thompson will jointly lead jazz games from the Vivint Arena, the team also announced.
