Some brand new moves are coming to town.
Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Parkland is holding a grand opening ceremony on Friday, October 1st, with doors opening at 7:30 pm at 7: 7631 N. State Rd., In the Waterways Shoppes in Parkland.
The participants will be pampered with a dance evening, professional show dances, champagne and hors d’oeuvres and other events. The dress code is cocktail attire with a color code of royal blue, soft blue, or white, the organizers said.
“We are excited to introduce our studio to the world,” said Jailene Gaviria, dance instructor and event coordinator for the studio.
For locals deciding whether to inquire about dance classes, Gaviria said the studio has options to suit every need, age, interest, and skill level, including beginners with no experience.
The studio teaches foxtrot, waltz, rumba, salsa, merengue, bachata, swing and wedding dances. Arthur Murray students often prepare for an event such as a cruise or vacation; others may want to learn new skills or just socialize.
Both singles and couples are welcome, the studio staff said, with private lessons and gift certificates.
Gaviria said the studio’s professional teachers have been dancing for 10 years or more; some have appeared on television and have even competed.
“We give everyone a warm welcome and take care of everyone,” said Gaviria.
Arthur Murray Dance Studios, which was founded in 1912, currently has more than 260 locations in 21 countries around the world, according to the studio. Staff like to say that people can “call now and dance tonight” because trial classes are available to the public on the same day.
