Agency Guacamole hosts fifth BLND event in Los
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 25, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Agency Guacamole, a Los Angeles-based communications agency supporting leading beauty and lifestyle brands, announces that its fifth Beauty, Lifestyle and Nurturing Diversity Event ( BLND) will be held in Los Angeles on August 31, 2022. The event initially sold out, but the company was able to increase capacity and add additional seats to meet demand.
Focused on the theme “Beauty Entrepreneurship as an Entrepreneur of Color”, the LABLND event brings together five beauty leaders to talk about building a beauty brand as a POC – the challenges, opportunities and inspiration.

Agency Guacamole’s Beauty, Lifestyle and Nurturing Diversity (BLND) initiative, which began in 2018 and took place in New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta and virtually 2020, returns to LA in 2022 as the city’s influence on beauty continues to explode . The panel and networking event aims to bring together key opinion leaders, industry executives, content creators/influencers and editors to speak about diversity, inclusion and belonging specifically in the beauty and lifestyle industry. Previous issues have included race/ethnicity and ageism.
This year’s BLND panelists include:
- Akila Releford (@akilahreleford), Founder and CEO of Mary Louise Cosmetics, a Gen Z makeup brand. Mary Louise Cosmetics prides itself on clean formulas and wants to help its Gen Z audience redefine beauty on their own terms. Akilah founded the brand in her Howard University dorm in 2017 with the intention of creating fun and easy-to-use beauty products for the masses.
- Margareta Arriagada (@MargaritaArriagada), Founder of Valdé Beauty. Margarita is a first-generation Peruvian-American with an extensive beauty resume, including serving as Chief Merchant of Sephora USA. In 2020 she launched Valdé Beauty, a refillable lip collection with richly pigmented shades, incredibly sensual textures and clean, cruelty-free and vegan formulas.
- Michelle Ranavat (@MichelleRanavat), Founder of Ranavat, an all-natural Ayurvedic skin and hair care brand. Michelle used her pharmaceutical industry expertise and technical background to create a range of beautiful skin and hair treatments that honor her South Asian heritage.
